Sweet evening light, the river in spate, and no midges, equals bliss !!
A view of Sgurr nan Gillean, a peak on the Black Cuillin of the Isle of Skye, from the river at Sligachan.
Taken in late Summer, when the heather adds a honey perfume to the clean air. I had the place all to myself !! Punch the air in celebration !!
Shot on my Canon EOS 50D, tripod, six stop ND B+W filter, lens, Canon EFS 17-85mm IS, set at 17mm, f20, 2 seconds, iso 100, auto wb, 2 RAW files tone mapped in Photomatix, some tweaks in Photoshop CS4, sharpened and saturated in LAB mode. A bit of layer masking in a few small areas where the water highlights burned out.
