Last Winter, 2009/10 was our coldest on record. For us on the West Coast, it meant far less rain than normal, and well above average sunshine hours, and none of our usual unrelenting fierce winds.
Needless to say, I am selfishly hoping for a recurrence !
Many of the Lochs stayed frozen for months, and it was terrific to hear the ice creaking in the silence.
I took this one of my fave mountain, Blaven, across Lochan Cill Chriosd, near Torrin, just after Christmas, in the late afternoon, (in the gloaming/sunset !) on my
Canon EOS 50d, tripod, lens set at 17mm (Canon EFS 17-85mm IS), f23, 1 sec, iso 100, auto wb, single RAW file processed gently in Photoshop CS4.
