Lake Nakuru, Nakuru national Park, Kenya, Africa.

I photographed these birds in extremely bright light, and deliberately silhouetted them, against the water. The original image was bland in the extreme, so to zap it up somewhat, I played around in Photoshop CS3 to make it look like sun setting on the water.
I added a circular selection to the middle, feathered it, added a coloured filter, reduced opacity, then hit inverse, and added the coloured filter again, full strength.
Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, Bigma lens, balanced on a bean bag on the open window of our vehicle, 50-500mm set at 417mm, iso 400, f13, auto wb, RAW file processed in Photoshop CS3. No filters on the lens.
