This is viewed from the Isle of Eigg, across Laig Bay to the Cuillin of Rhum. Eigg and Rhum belong to a group of islands known collectively as “The Small Isles”.
Ideally, I had planned that I could get one of those “blur” shots, with the sea swirling around the rocks, using my six stop Neutral Density filter, but of course the tide went out to a part of the beach devoid of any focal point !! I settled happily for reflections and patterns in the sand.
It looks warm, but there was a perishing cold wind blowing !
Shot on my Canon EOS 50D, on tripod, B+W ND filter 6 stop, iso 100, cloudy wb, f16, 3 RAW files at 0EV, -2EV, +2EV, Canon 17-85mm IS lens set at 17mm. Processed in Photomatix, and PS CS4.
