A ‘Kirk’ is a Church, and in this case, a very old one. Some parts of it date back to the Twelfth Century, though most of what you see here are ruins from the Seventeenth century, or newer. Some wonderful photographs to be had from here, Celtic Crosses and all that lovely old stonework…..be sure not to miss it if you travel the best road in all of Scotland…from Broadford, down to Elgol, an amazing Twenty miles or so, along the Strathaird Peninsula. !!
An HDR, Photomatix 3.2. Three RAW files, shot on my Canon EOS 50D, on tripod, Sigma wide lens, 10-20mm set at 10mm, iso 100, polarising filter, ( B+W) , f23, minus and plus two stops of the correct meter reading, further processed in PS CS4…..I had to remove a horrible magenta cast in the sky !! Quite a bit of layer masking, until I was satisfied with the result !!!!
