Plockton gained even more fame than it already had by the TV programme " Hamish Macbeth " being filmed here. ( I was an extra on that for two seasons, (cringe !!)
Plockton sits in an idyllic location on the shores of Loch Carron, with amazing vistas all around. Warmed by the Gulf Stream where Cordyline Palm flourishes, the village has an almost Meditteranean appearance, that belies the fact that you are at 57 degrees latitiude ! There are many guest-houses, a few hotels, and plenty of excellent places to eat, or sit out and enjoy your drink and admire the view ! Many a honeymoon is spent here.
This phone box is still in use, though it does currently need a paint-job !
Shot on my Ricoh KR10 Super, probably eight years ago, Fuji Velvia Transparency, f22, asa 50, polariser and tripod used, scanned into my PC with my Nikon Coolscan VED, then tidied up in Adobe PS CS3, with a little noise reduction, and a wee boost with Levels.
PUBLISHED IN "THE BRITISH LOCATION TELEVISION GUIDE " BOOK.
