I captured this around six years back, when we were doing a road trip of the South West. Jerome is a great place, full of character. We stumbled upon Joe’s place by accident – he calls it a ghost town, but it is rather more a collection of old automobiles and other machinery, a great place for a photographer – he has some rather quirky items dotted around the yard !
Photographed in the heat of the afternoon sun, the light was not at its best for this subject, so I Ortoned and Textured it, to create a better feel..
I scanned a Fuji Velvia transparency with my Nikon Coolscan V ED, shipped it into Adobe PS CS3, where I cleaned the image up a bit with the spot removal tool. Then I played around with the Orton and textures until I was happy with the result.
It was shot on a Ricoh KR10 Super, mounted on a tripod, with polarising filter, f22.
