Mount Shuksan is in the North Cascades National Park, Washington State, USA.
This part of the USA is known as “The Pacific North West.”
We arrived here good and early, before the crowds arrived, and since there is a highway running all the way to “Artist Point” it can indeed get busy , I guess owing to the fact that it is easily accessible from the Seattle region, straight off the Interstate from Bellingham, an easy drive of less than two hours, and not too remote,
I spotted some postcards and tourist brochures with a variety of images of this scene, and determined to see it for myself. Glad I did.
I would love to see this when snow blankets the ground !

Shot on a CANON EOS 20D, mounted on a tripod, polarising filter attached, f22, 1/30 sec, iso 100, auto wb, 18-55mm lens,
set at 18mm, RAW file, processed as much as possible in Adobe Camera Raw then CS3, usual levels/curves adjustments, LAB colour, Intellisharpen used.

A perfect day and so well captured! I lived in Seattle area for 9 years and there is so much beauty that I saw only a tiny fraction of it. Much less than 1%. You could spend a lifetime in the Northwest US, traveling every day and only cover the more popular areas, not the less known.
