I don’t think she thought much of me & my camera..

A few weeks ago I was driving through Penn Square in Lancaster, Pa, USA and there was a Mennonite Choir on one corner singing. By the time I found a parking space they had finished. I asked Matthew, a member of their church who was passing out invitations to visit their church when they would be back and gave him my number. He called yesterday to let me know they would be there today. A whole lot of singing, a little preaching and a really nice morning. Just got home and here are a few of my photos, maybe more to come.

Wow, Tony, I do love this. These faces! And the look that’s not a look, says quite a lot. The pin sharpness and gorgeous light really grabs me.

At first I thought it was film.

  • I cheated a little on this one and overexposed it when i took it to cut down on the contrast and added the contrast in Lightroom, somehow it seems to have extended the tonal range which might be what gives it that film look. I thought the same thing when I finished with it. If I could afford to shoot film I would shoot it quite a bit I think. In the film days if you wanted to increase contrast you underexposed a little and then overdeveloped by increasing the processing time, this was kind of the same thing but backwards. It was an instinctual thing when i shot it, just occurred to me to do it when I was looking through the viewfinder, not sure why it occurred to me but I went with it. Glad you noticed but now i am expecting you to notice. LOL tony

  • Oh the light was just shade on a bright day. Maybe that was what made me think I had to do something different because it was pretty flat light. Once again thanks for noticing.
