While photographing street art in the Plateau area of Montreal (Quebec, Canada), I passed these two workmen moving boxes several times. About the third or fourth time we passed each other, one of the workmen stops and says, “If you want pretty pictures, take this.” and pulls up his top showing me his tattoo. So I did.

Original photo processed in PaintShop Pro v9. Duplicate layer of original photo converted to B&W using a Channel mixer adjustment layer. A mask layer was added to allow the coloured tattoo to show through

Placed 7th in the Tattoos challenge in the group ‘CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!’ on 12 February 2013

It so looked like a photo with a story, that I would have been disappointed if you’d had nothing there, so thank you for sharing the story. I feel like I still have a lot to learn about how photos are processed that it was also great to read what you did.

  • Thank you, Morag, for looking in and commenting. Much appreciated. – Gene
