Celtic High Cross & Round Tower – Cemetery at St Columba’s Parish Church (Church of Ireland) – Drumcliff, Co Sligo, Ireland
Sligo’s only round tower and its only 10th-century High Cross are remnants of the monastery founded in the village around 575 by St Colmcille. The impressive cross is nearly four metres high and carved with scenes from the old and new testaments. Standing in a graveyard near the Church of Ireland church, St Columba’s, where the poet WB Yeats is buried.
