Magnificent! I don’t think colour would have done this capture justice.

Beautiful! :) I sketched this same angel back in August! So nice to see a member who’s actually visited there :)

  • Thank you, Laura. I love spending time in that cemetery with my camera. There are so many wonderful works of art.

BTW, I see you’re located on the Left coast. Were you visiting Montreal when you did the sketch?

Oh no, not at all.. I search a lot of art and was viewing statues when I came across this one.. I just drew it from the computer.

very nice! I have been to the one in Houston Texas and the one in Mississippi…trying to get around to the others in the USA…

  • Thanks, Jamie. Appreciate the comments. Came across a link recently that talks about the original being in Europe somewhere. Unfortunately, I can’t find the link again or I’d post it.

If you do a web search on my weeping angel in New Orleans there is a lot of information about the others as well…it originated in Italy, I believe. A sculpture working under the Italian man is the one who brought the idea to America…something to that effect…there is a lot of info on the original and the ones here. ;) I am very facinated with her and I am always looking in these odd places to make sure history has not missed one! lol….

  • Thanks for that additional info., Jamie. Much appreciated. – Gene
