Aussie backyard

219 views 23rd November 2009.

Taken from a friends place just north of Brisbane in Queensland. On the other side of these houses is the ocean. I watched the ray of sunlight moving slowly across the yard and lighting up more detail as it moved. The sun beam got wider and wider and when it finally lit up the weeds near the corrugated iron, I noticed near the back steps, someone had just walked up the side of the house and they had stirred up the dust, and I snapped that photo simply because I could see the dust in the scene and I tried to capture it. That to me is what photography is all about – taking photos of very ordinary looking scenes and capturing the light, and the results are photos that you wouldn’t normally see in the tourist brochures.

Hi Jack01, thanks for your comment the other day. I did reply to it , but I replied by just hitting “reply” in the comments section and I wasn’t aware that I should have replied to your actual comment, so you would not have been aware that I did reply. Sorry about that. I’m still learning all the RedBubble ways.

    Cheers,
    Graham
