Old Town of Ludlow along the outer highway 40 or better known as route 66. This house is in a state of entropy and like many of the towns that existed in the hay day of route 66 time and progress is passing them up. There’s no reason to stop there, cars get better gas mileage and just pass places like this up. What will route 66 look like in another 30 years?

Another fun and interesting place!! Yes, I wonder too what route 66 will be like.

  • Thank you I have enjoyed recording the things I have seen between Santa Monica Ca and Flagstaff Arizona. I have seen all of the way to New Mexico but only as a kid. I rember Indian women walking along the Highway with Papoos’s and stopping at gas stations where they gave away stuffed toys and did your window and checked your oil. All Gone!

This is a typical Route 66 scene on the old road. So many dilapidated and abandoned businesses and homes. A sad result of the interstate system coming through. Your HDR work is fantastic!!
