I went down into the flats to capture clouds on the mountains – east and western horizons. It started raining and was growing dark, so I headed back home to the foothills. As the storm moved through, the scene unfolded before me.

Great Basin Life exists … between … high desert expanses and majestic mountain wilderness.

Daily, I watch the winds of change sweeping away what remains of our western culture and heritage, and the land that has produced them.

My mission is to preserve as much as I can, of that which will soon vanish, through my photography.

Oh WOW! what a Spectacular landscape image…Arla!! what a fantastic capture of the rainbow ! the end of it looks so close , did ya drive down to see if they’er was a pot of gold ? lol, lol Stunning lighting and color tones ! Amazing work my friend!! Wtg =D

  • I’m usually running away from them, trying to get far enough back to capture the whole arc. In this case, only the leg was visible, so no need to back up. I like to think that the “treasure” is held within the rays, rather than at the end.
