These natural stone monoliths always remind me of ancient castles. I wonder if giants go cavorting with the deer and elk that graze here during certain times of the year, when we little mortals aren’t about?

The landscape appears remarkably green for being this late in the summer, and wildflowers still bloom in some high places. The mountain offers cool respite from the heat of the high desert below.

Great Basin Life exists … between … high desert expanses and majestic mountain wilderness.

Daily, I watch the winds of change sweeping away what remains of our western culture and heritage, and the land that has produced them.

My mission is to preserve as much as I can, of that which will soon vanish, through my photography.
