Great Basin Life exists … between … high desert expanses and majestic mountain wilderness.

Daily, I watch the winds of change sweeping away what remains of our western culture and heritage, and the land that has produced them.

My mission is to preserve as much as I can, of that which will soon vanish, through my photography.

Oh I wish I knew how to do this…why don’t you plan a trip over, stay in my casita and teach this GIMP edit program I found…!!! Awesome job neighbor

  • I have heard of Gimp, but never used it. I tried to adapt to Adobe PS, but after having used PSP for over a decade, couldn’t make the transition.

Corel PhotoImpact is the latest evolution from Paintshop Pro 11, and I have [only] had this for a couple of years. I am still learning.

I switch back and forth between the two programs, as one has better tools for some processes, and not as good for others.

I think it just takes a lot of trial-and-error, and experimentation.

I do not have any aspect of photoshop…neve could afford but hinted as to an anniversary present this year! GIMP looks to be quite comprehensive…free download but I just not that technical…just keep hoping my “out of camera” shots will have enough WOW factor!

I hear you! …over the weekend my husband put a website together for me…I added all the stuff, but he put the format together…I guess he got tired of me saying…*well RB just made the lion’s share of another sale"…sold a print over the weekend and I made a whopping $2.89 and RB made the rest! I know they do all of the shipping, printing…etc…as soon as I decide to launch my site I will let you know…won’t be too sophisticated to start…with time I will add a shopping cart and what not…right now I am just trying to get my head around having my own site and if anyone will ever find it!!!

  • Oh! That is exciting! I can hardly wait to see!!

Yes, I am satisfied with RB products and services – and even with their prices (I have raised my percentage on a number of items, and that does not appear to have diminished sales at all. Of course, that’s pretty hard to gauge, given my miniscule volume base line. :P )
