Here Comes The Rain Challenge on Rain: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
(2010.JUN.25)
I was attending a wedding reception when I noticed several people gathering at the window. They motioned me over to watch this storm that was gathering around Mt. Moriah.
I jumped into my vehicle and drove like a bat out of Hell to get beyond the powerlines before the scene passed … as it quickly did - naturally.
I might have been shooting from Utah, but Mt. Moriah is on the Nevada side of the line.

what an astonishing capture!! no wonder you’re thrilled to have found them again … terrific photography!
:))
Thanks, Dinghy!
This shot may well be the one that initially sparked my photography addiction. I remember the adrenalin rush so vividly! For whatever the image may lack technically, it will perhaps always rank among my top six favorite landscapes. :)

Great shot Arla, I am glad you found it again. I do not think it lacks anythin g techically. I love the blue sky to the right of the image in contrast to the rest of it.
Ah, thank you, Wayne!
I don’t want to pick it apart, but I think if I had such an opportunity again, I might frame the shot somewhat differntly. At the time, I was just trying to get as much of the scene into the frame as possible. ;]

Way cool shot. We don’t get anything like that around here. I just gotta get to Nevada.
Thank you, Bob! Fall is the best time to be here. :)

Maybe next fall then. Or spring. Thinking about selling my MG and buying a jeep. The MG is fun, but a Jeep will go places the MG won’t. Besides, as I get older, it gets harder and harder to squeeze in and out of the MG.
I hear ya!
Higher wheel base is definitely a plus on dirt road safaris. ;D)))
