Great Basin Life exists … between … high desert expanses and majestic mountain wilderness.
Daily, I watch the winds of change sweeping away what remains of our western culture and heritage, and the land that has produced them.
My mission is to preserve as much as I can, of that which will soon vanish, through my photography.
This is a great capture depicting moment of living in the majesty of high desert. Looks very beautiful! Everything: the sky, mountains, the sunlight strip in the wild open space, junipers, sage brushes, horses, the cowboy, and WATER, the real treasure of the high desert. Yes, something has driven me to look (by the eyes of my knowledge, experience, and immagination I guess) what is beyond that beauty. It’s a hard hard work to survive in that harsh however, amazing environment. Truth, we all work hard. It just about different aspects of it. But it’s worth it anyhow for the sole purpose of such a glorious moments we have. One of them is skillfully captured as above. I love it!
Wow! Arvy, thank you for your most observant analysis, and high compliments!

There really is nothing like being with horses in freedom…
The human subject here is something of a horse whisperer, posessing an uncanny affinity with them …. I am more attuned to dogs. :)
Great shot Arla…this garners my vote for the tunes challenge…well done!
