    This was a most fortuitous shot. The light condition occurs for only ten or fifteen minutes in late afternoon, as the sun is sinking behind the western mountains—on clear days. That is somewhat predictable. The horses crossing at any given point or time? Totally luck of the draw.

    Oh my! I’m sorry I missed this comment, Jan …. Yes! ROAM passed; however, the BLM still proposes removal of ALL wild horses from the Ely District - 620 horses roaming 2 million acres. After 200 years on this land, they have “suddenly” become an “environmental threat”.
