Before there was Palm Springs, there was Borrego Springs. Lots of celebrities stayed here. During the 1950’s, Borrego Springs was a favorite hideaway for Hollywood stars, including: Burgess Meredith, Gale Gordon, Charles Laughton, Leo Carrillo, Andy Devine, Lon Chaney, Jr., Will Rogers, Bing Crosby, John Wayne, James Arness, Frank Morgan and Marilyn Monroe.
