Stellar composition. Your models don’t hurt your cause, but the lines and tone in this are just awesome. I’m going to run out of superlatives. It’s good, OK?

that’;s fucking great. what do you feed the girls to get them to turn that nice shiny sheen?

  • PhotoNaturally

    PhotoNaturally

First you have feed then high quality cat food so that they can have nice shiny coat. Then you have to brush them regularly.

When taking a shot you have to make sure that the lights are position properly and finally touch up in photoshop.

i’m not a big fan of nudes in general but this is really well done with the smoothness vs. jagged bricks.

  • PhotoNaturally replied

I’m a particular about nudes. I feel that there should be nude for a purpose. it has to add something to the image, but not the main purpose of the image.

Which is why I kind of struggled with this one. Its nice because of the lines…but I feel that something is missing from it

    balance… it lacks balance.

not saying that it isn’t good, or even strikingly stunning like some of your other shots, but something about the perspective and position of the women makes it lack balance…

but who am I to say?

other than someone who obviously needs to format their computer. ;-)

  • PhotoNaturally replied

Hmm…I take everyones comment into consideration and I like all critical comments :)

I have been asked many a times how the girls are hanging on….well..they are just standing in a doorway. the image is balance visually. if you divide the image diagonally, its almost symmetrical.

Is that the balance you are talking about?

  • JenniferB

    JenniferB

I’m not sure… The models just look kind of ‘uncomfortable’ and out of place hanging there like that. :-)

In my whore of an opinion, the feet of the models don’t blend/merge in with the window, there’s no ‘apparent’ window sill for model who’s leaning back’s foot to stand on and her extended leg is kind of sunk into bricks, does that make sense? :-)

She looks like she’s suspended in mid air, a body pasted over a window frame. Sure wish that I could be as agile as that… :-)

need I elaborate any further to the point where you really get pissed off with me? Lol.

  • JenniferB

    JenniferB

well..they are just standing in a doorway.

    A doorway?

    oops!

    :-O

  • PhotoNaturally replied

yeah its just a door way…its funny this piece. and probably because of the title, people think that they are lying on a grill :p Maybe the illusion is a compliment to me.

I welcome criticism. When I started photography, my teacher will always criticise my work, telling me how it can be better. he wasnt there to massage my ego. he was there to help me get better. He doesnt like anything that anyone do. there will always be something that can be improved. Till one day, I produced a series of work and he said “I like it”. I knew that he meant it.

but I do like some of your work… a lot… take this one for instance, and this one, amongst others where the women can keep their balance. ;-)

I’ve found this one again, and have to say: it lacks nothing. In my unprofessional opinion, all those “negatives” are positives. Keep feeding them that cat food.

  • PhotoNaturally replied

thanx Jason, I am playing a game of hide and seek. I’ll hide this somewhere else and see if you can find it again.

I welcome ALL comments as long as they tell me why or what they like or dislike. it gives me an idea of how people are looking at things.
