He’d finally discovered why he’d been born with such a lovely thick coat. He’d seen a dusting of snow from inside the warren before but never been able to frolic around in it like this. His discovery of a carrot tree made up for his feet feeling cold. There was something a little frustrating about it though, every carrot had been chewed so that it was just out of reach from him no matter how high he stretched.
He felt his toes twitch, and for a few seconds everything was a blur. As the swirl of colour came back into focus he realised that he was lying full length on the fire hearth, his feet in the draft of the open chimney. Just in front of his nose was his Christmas stocking, magically filled with delicious treats.
