Cleanse: Mind, Body, and Spirit

In creating this image I wanted to create a strong mood. I used a lamp with a clip on the end and clipped it to the shower curtain rod. I pointed it down at the subject. Put the camera on a tripod. Converted to black and white and experimented with contrast and effects.

Scene suggests something traumatic in her life that affected her intimately. Were it easy that bad memories could be washed off the soul as it is easy to wash the dirt and marks off the skin. Location is spot on in terms of textures and color/design patterns (check tiles and the dimpled drape stand out), and of course the streams from the vintage showerhead.

A very dramatic image. The subdued lighting creates a real sense of despair I think. The intense shadows to the lower part of the image really draws the eye to the main area of focus. Great piece of work, it woild make a good book cover.
