The Proud One
WIld horse in Utah. This is the one and only wild horse that I named. I named him Marv after a Native American friend of mine. The similarities between the horse and my friend were amazing. The long flowing black hair and the pride they both portray is inspiring. I haven’t seen Marv for a long time, I don’t know what happend to him. I look for him everytime I go out and he is nowhere to be found. So here is to Marv!

Great capture, GP – like the deep contrast between the white and the green/yellow and the muted colors in the background. I think the white between the eyes is a very interesting detail that sets this MARV —elous one apart from his background!

Great capture Gene. Many say that if your heart is right and the soul is pure one can change into the animal that one is gifted. Just a thought of what you said about your friend. Many friends come in forms that seem clear to us for example he came as a human just a thought….not saying that its true. Ive read into soem Native American culture. VERY GREAT JOB GENE:) a fav

i like the muted color contrast with the sharp sleek dark color and feel of the horse, your tribute to your friend is quite touching and now that its on the web, the world has become very small so maybe he will one day see this.

Awesome capture….............find it hard to believe he is wild our “wild horses” or “brumbies” are no where near the quality of this animal…...................it is hard to imagine anybody who saw this horse would not try to tame him…................

I agree with the few above, as this brings quite a lump to my throat. I was raised with horses, but I’ve never had the opportunity to see them in nature such as this…I seriously have dreamt about it, but your pictures bring that to life for me. This one is just breathtaking!!!!
