Race For Water
The wild horses running for the water hole. When the horses start running like this they only have one thing on their mind…...WATER! As soon as I seen they were starting to run off I knew right where they were headed. I made it back to my truck and headed off to the watering hole. I had to get around the mountain to get there, and they were going through the mountain. So it was race to see if I could get there in time.
When I made it to the watering hole the first band had already been and was headed back. The second band was on their way in.
They all came in and got their drinks.
Just as fast as they had come in they were heading out.

Fabulous, Gene. I watched PBS’s Nature last night on Horse and Rider. The key was the relationship between the two. I feel a relationship between you and “your” horses that you capture with every photograph.

All your wild horse shots are wonderful. This close up of them racing for water is outstanding. I love wild horses so naturally I can appreciate your great shots of them. We have some in Northeastern California, about 60 miles from where I live, and Nevada has even more. I’ve seen them in the wild at a distance and even when they are far out they look magnificent to me. Love the way you get in close and get such great photos of them. Government in Nevada wants to kill hundreds off as the say there are too many. I sure hope that doesn’t happen. Fire the politicians and keep the horses. That’s what I say. Again, great capture. Ed
