Wow… It really is an incredible capture. I’m not usually a fan of flash either, but you used it perfectly here. Aside from being powerful, the selective lighting lends the image a sort of pseudo- surrealism… It almost looks like a very realistic painting or a masterfully composited digital work. The highlighting of the very front gull, followed by the shading and gradual fading of the smaller gulls, combined withh the BLACK light ingin front and the ROSE clearing at the horizon, make for a MASTERPIECE IN COMPOSITION in shadow and light – wow!
