When I stopped believing

I will not wait at the window for my father.
He has forgotten to visit us
and tomorrow there will be another
sad
sorry
excuse
that is not a reason,
that is only an excuse.

I will not wait in the kitchen for my lover,
for unpredicted bad traffic to clear.
The same bad traffic as every day,
at this time,
like last time.
That is the reason.
Or was it an excuse?

I will not wait to make the same mistakes,
or to learn from my old mistakes,
because with some careful thought
this
time
will
be
different.
There’s no excuse

I needn’t ask if it’s “fact” or “fiction” because it doesn’t matter – it still rings true. The author deserves much better than bad traffic. =)

Jo, you never fear to reveal your mind and you do it wonderfully. I agree with you too. Once bitten should never be twice shy.

The structure also gives the piece the tempo it deserves.

    Bravo.
