Activities for the day: Photo taking, lunch, more photo taking and if we are keen a wander around the national gallery.

    Awwww :(

I think daytime meets are always going to be a bit ‘hit and miss’ based around people’s work committments etc. I’ll do this one on a Saturday, and the next one on a Sunday perhaps. Maybe that will give everyone a chance to come along to one.

I have one of those personalities wher if I hear “Can someone…?” My hand is in the air before I even know what it is.

But seriously, everyone on here is so awesome. Why wouldn’t I try to meet you all?

i am a young journalist and i wanted to ask you a few of qs….thanks for answering if you do.

    1) has anyone ever offered to meet you and you’ve said no?
    2) how does that make them look?
    3) do you think a person should be proud no matter what, or should they choose between having simple feelings about themselves like good or bad, positive/negative. should some ppl understand that it is them and not others?

    To the always inquisitive Andrew:

    1) Yes of course. And the reason isn’t always the same. Sometimes your gut just tells you it isn’t a good idea and I tend to trust that feeling and say no.

    2) In my eyes, it just means that there are some people who are good ‘meet up and have coffee’ friends and some people who are good ‘online’ friends. It’s apples and oranges. No one person needs to be both.

    3) I think that to grow as a person you need to experience a range of feelings about yourself including complex ones. I guess the only constant I hope for is that despite how mixed up and layered someone’s feelings might be, that they can keep it in perspective and see how they are learning from it. I believe in the individual taking some responsibility for their feelings and that there is some level of choice in how we react to things. That said, when it gets too complicated, it can be benefitial to simplify and say “even though there is fifty million things going on right now, overall it’s good/bad/indifferent”

Ahh, Ms O’Brien, my name is Lolo, but thanks for answering the qs. i have a cpl more to follow from those answers of yours. again, thanks for getting online and answering, if you do.

    1) when is the best time to quit something?
    2) what is it in your gut that says to you that meeting certain ppl would not be of benefit?
    3) have you ever read the outsider/the stranger by camus?

Hi Jo, thanks for organising this gathering. I’ll do my best to meet up with you on Sat 28th. I’ve been involved in an exhibition at Australia on Collins which is due to come down that day so I will be in the city. I’ll give you a call and see if I can meet up with you.

    1) When you stop getting anything positive out of it.
    2) I call it a gut feeling because I can’t explain it in language. I just know.
    3) Neither. I rarely read. I watch people instead.
