feel like a holiday?
Halls Gap is a small town located in the Grampians National Park. Besides being stunning to look at, you have wineries, bushwalking, relaxing with a good book, adventure sports and more right at your finger tips. Being a small town, all the various accommodation is quite close so it doesn’t matter where you choose to stay. Plus there is a great lolly shop there.
For those who laugh at the thought of relaxing, a weekend away with other creative people could bring endless opportunities to create, collaborate and be inspired by the amazing scenery. Photographer, painters, models, illustrators, writers… There is something to inspire every creative soul.
So, enough of my sales pitch…
How about we all go to Halls Gap March 6th – 9th? March is far enough away that you can’t possibly have plans yet, the weather will still be nice and It’s probably someone’s birthday so we can eat cake.
In terms of organising it. Probably best we keep it all in one spot

not at all. Having attended a fair few meet up for Melbourne people I can honestly say everyone is very friendly and welcoming. If you’re not too sure, drop me a line directly and we can have a yack or meet up for a coffee first so you know at least one person there.

thanks Jo

sounds like fun. I’m just a writer though. are these meetups predominately attended by photographers?

Writers are more than welcome. Halls Gap is a great environment to pull up a bean bag under the trees and write away. People do come along to take photos, but it’s not based around photography. The idea is for everyone to come along.

Fleece, don’t say “just a writer”! You might teach and learn a lot on the trip.

No such thing as ‘just a writer’! This was first suggested at the writers’ meeting yesterday, and it’s safe to say that there’ll be almost as many pens as there will be cameras.
The last one was a roaring success….it’s about time for the next one!

Sounds Great Jo!!! I used to and still do get there quite regulary as I until recently lived very close by!
As far as birthdays go mine is the 10th so cake would be a must!!!!
and just in case your not aware I think you will find that it is also the labor day long weekend so it might be a good idea to get organising as it is a very popular little place as I am sure you know!!!

great photos and a beautiful spot. wish I could go. I never thought Australia to be so beautiful until seeing all the RB photos of it. Great idea.
I especially like the dark photo with the dramatic clouds and think stream of white light on the line on the road.
