Hi Jo, great photo. Love the fact that this focuses on the Mother’s experience as well. I find popular ‘baby in the stomach side shot’ tend to relegate the mother to carrier rather than the one who is about to go through something huge and life changing. Giving birth is as real as it gets and I get this feeling from your photo.

Thanks Amanda. I agree that pregnancy very often becomes all about baby and the poor mum is reduced to the incubator. Having a baby has got to be harder than being born!

And I’ve also got to say that there are some really tacky pregnancy shots out there. I’m terrified of turning tacky and not noticing and then one day I look back at my work and go ‘what was I thinking?’

A pregnant woman is the most powerful and potent thing in the universe.
I LOVE pregnant women (as long as I don’t have to be married to one…they can be very dangerous )(I must also mention that the couple of times I tried that this was a 100% mutual conclusion).
As the spoiled artist mind I just happen to be, I seam to be totally impossible to live with. I HAVE taken the consequences of this, so despite a few very good offers (just so you know that I have chosen this and brought it upon myself) I have stayed alone with my son for the last 10 – 11 years.
But I love pregnant women… go figure
My life is just one long contradiction
But I love pregnant woman :-)
