We’ll never tell! Mwah ha ha! We were out walking and saw what looked like an office was a smashed in glass door. Jess said “shall we go in?” I said “Yep” and the rest is history
This happened to me once, but even if I could turn it into art now I wouldn’t find such racey perspective, a full length feature of drama and such surreal beauty as this.
I really connect with this one Jo….In most of us we feel cornered and that things in life sometimes surrounds and smuthers our exsistance….if we only realised that these things aren’t that bad and that we can cut through them and easily Escape
Well Jo – you just keep going don’t you… this is so wonderful, yes, no editing required… amazing raw image… colours, pose and the way you’ve used the space is perfect… love the way leaves and twigs provide the design element that just makes the shot. Also love the warm tones…. Stunning work!!! You two girls are inspiring!
Hi Jo, I wish Redbubble had people write a story about their photo: (Camera, speed, length, etc.) Terrific photo with fine details, good composition, brightness & color, color harmony, DOF, etc. To me it has great inner emotions that she is reaching out for something besides help. Take care, Bonnie
I love this work, Jo! Apart from it’s great composition and photographic qualities, it has a visual strange effect on me. When I look at it for a while it starts to look like the top right corner of the image is lifting, and it feels like the figure might start to slide down towards the leaves in the left bottom corner – it creates a lovely sort of tension or insecurity. The more I look at it the more I’m drawn to it.
Masterpiece, that’s what it is… great DOF, scenery, colors. Maybe a shame the left part is so dark, but the shot needs it for the story. Because of wide angle lens?
Lovely image this – I really like the way you’ve composed it with her outstretched arms running as a counterpoint to the tendrils of the ivy. and the complimentary reds of her hair and the leaves.
Totally one of the best shots on redbubble! Composition is immaculate, posing / direction is just cracking, the spread fingers and clawing arms mirror the vine / streaks on the floor, as if the model is climing / clawing her way across / up. Such a story. Wow. I want to fave it more than once!
Alright, so i feel a bit of a nerd. But i really like this It reminds me of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and how Cedric was getting grabbed by the veins of the branches. And tried to escape.. But this is so much prettier though, it just reminded me of it haha.

Jo thanks for support of my work….and here this is so awsome…How awsone these tones are that she is slightly in the tone but pops out wow…awsome done…:)
An instant favourite. This is awesome. The imagery is so dark and tense. Beautiful colours and composure. I would love to get a hold of a copy of this to play with in CS3…..... brilliant
This says Wuthering Heights to me Jo. Could this be Cathy calling Heathcliff from the otherside. Easy to see why its your favourite. Powerful dramatic scene. XX
you have some very different stuff. morbid maybe in a sense it seems, but i think it’s all very interesting, and I can see why this one would be your favorite. Working with models seems like a lot of fun. I’ve been wanting to do that for awhile now. abandoned buildings can only show you so amny poses and they don’t listen too terribly well to directions.
The next immage try to turn her around and call picture “The Ivy girl”. She will represent nature and become one of that strings which climbing up to the sky. make a serial of immages, it will be really good staff.
It’s gorgeous! I somehow get the feeling that she’s reaching out to hold onto the vines. Sort of seeking out the last scratches of nature in a man-made world.
I’m so glad that you see it that way. For some time I struggled with titling the work, throwing up between ‘escape’ and ‘embrace.’ You see her, running from and running to at the same time. And the underlying themes about the natural and man-made world, the constructed and the nurtured. It is this tension and ambiguity which I love so much. Thank you for taking a moment to view it.
another beautiful shot! i’m jealous… your models are willing to pose, let you manipulate them and spread fake blood, or let you tie them up, and then wow, an amazing photo.
fantastic shot. absolutely love it. and love the way you’ve seen the shot then taken in using the camera. I whole hearted echo your ‘no edit’ rule. great shots shouldn’t need any manipulation
There are times I can definitely relate… This piece reminds me of a painting I once saw. I love the tones, the emotion this has is fantastic, great composition as well. Well done.
this is a great composition, she is creeping towards the leaves and the creepers are creeping towards her. Lovely gradation of colour and that cream dress is perfect on those tiles
