Loving this!! I know art buffs are very alternative – but this says a lot about the mindset of artists and really putting yourself in the moment. Sometimes you really forget about everything else for a while. Even where you are and what you’re doing.
Jo !!! This is one of the most phenomenal art exhibition shoots ever. Sure it is simple. Yet it is also extremely profound, honest, real, natural, and true. I do not think I have ever seen an image that so exactly expresses the nexus of art meets life and life meets art. I think you should win some award for it. This should be in a museum some day. Enter it in as many shows and publications as possible. And the title is perfect in so many ways.
I’d love it if you were to shoot it again and again with an increased diversity of flesh. A series on this one theme could be an exhibition on its own. This shot should not be underrated. It is a work of genius!
I had to come back for another look, I agree with CC Arshagra, this work can not be underrated, it has me thinking so much.
1. Puts a nice spin on the artist bearing themselves for the public. 2. Brings up idea of emperors new clothes, liking art because you are told that it is good, the inquisitive look obtained from the tilt of the head really highlights this. 3. Play on words, exhibition and exhibitionist. 4. Considerations on what is normal or the norm, we are born naked why do we feel we have to put clothes on? Is it normal to feel exposed and is it normal to try and portray this through art? Does art sometimes make us feel exposed?
Your piece of art is brilliant in that it throws up so many questions and even some answers, but all depend on individuals perspective.
Then again I could be wrong and it is just a picture of 2 naked people.
Play on words, play on film, play on art – playtime is the best time, and highly underrated and understated. Excellent image – it looks like it was fun : )
One of the best images of art, artists, artwork, I’ve seen in a long time. There is a wonderful sense of simplicity, honesty and connection. Taking a common scene and presenting it in a way that breaks normal expectations makes it so unique and stand out. The more I look at it the more I feel connected to it. It may be the artist in me that expose the art, but still keep boundaries and erect fences towards others.. A fave !
Are those tan-lines I see? Haven’t they heard of Cobblers Beach, Samurai Beach, River Island Nature Retreat? Do they need more information? I can help! Ah! To be that shape again!
A really clever swap on the idea of the artist as exposed and the viewer as observer. Only disappointment is the Photoshoping on the female model’s bum…it has to be Photoshopped, it’s too perfect! (chuckle)
that is just gorgeous set up JO and I appreciate you putting the “safe” filter on it but i dont find it offensive at all. I keep my safe filter on just to see which bubblers are too slack not to put it on.
Beautifully simple and beautifully effective. This works very well. As a side issue, it also shows the differences in body shape between the male and female form…but I digress. Great shot.

I Borrowed this comment as a reply instead of a ditto! Hope the author doesn’t mind… It says it all!
reminds me of the reception for an art exhibit in NYC years ago. The models used in the paintings or photographs were also present and mingled, nude, with everyone else (not nude).
Perhaps these models were already aware of the well-known saying: Happiness is no tan-lines . This work is my favourite for making the connection between art and naturism. Once committed to naturism with its humanistic component, at the right time, in the right place, it is hard to understand some of the fuss about the shame of having a body. (Whether an art gallery is the right time and the right place could be debated. )
I posed in the nude once – without permission, so it was quick – in Edinburgh Museum for an artist. I really wish the pictures had turned out as good as that one. Sadly, they didn’t.
