Artist's Description

Often mistaken for a domestic mouse, this is actually a marsupial. I believe it is a Yellow-footed Antechinus (Antechinus flavipes) which I spied while birding on a property at Bumbaldry NSW Australia today. Apparently the male of the species only lives for around one year as it usually dies from exhaustion and stress after hours of mating.
Canon 40d, Nikkor 400mm f5.6 + TC16a.
