Ode To Porra

With huge apologies to Rabbie Burns (25 Jan, 1759 – 21 July 1796) and dedicated to irene burdell (she knows why LOL). Ever wondered what fuels the Scots? Porra man!

Great glutinous globs of burnin’ Porra,
Ha’ some today, ha’ some t’morra,
Wi’ salt for Scots, and sugar for Sassas,
Gi’ ye hairy legs, an’ eyes for Lasses

Tak it doon t’stoke ye’n fire,
Boil tha Blood an’ singe tha hair,
Cleanse tha heart an’ purge tha liver,
This food a’ Oats, this real life giver.

When wind an’ rain upon yon moor,
Do beat their fist upon ye door,
Ye’ll laugh t’day, an’ more t’morra,
For yer’n belly’s full o glorious porra.
