Little War

Little War
.................

Bombs are loud,
screams are louder,
mushroom cloud,
breathe gun powder.

Guns fire blind,
rain stains soil,
head-held pride,
hot splattered oil.

See loud guns,
lives end there,
husbands, friends, sons,
stop and stare.

Dusty grey sky,
dark with hate,
throats yell dry,
like predator’s bait.

Hear dead heartbeats,
taste the fear,
tears down young cheeks,
the end is near.
