Background Information:
The Maurerkogel is a grass-covered mountain peak of the Glemmtaler Alps in the Kitzbühel Alps, west of the Pinzgauer Schmittenhöhe. It geologically counts as the Grauwackenzone zone.

The Maurerkogel is located west of the Schmittenhöhe and east of the Gernkogel summit and is the first summit, after the Schmittenhöhe at the Pinzgauer hiking route. It is easy to hike out of the Schmittenhöhe within 1.5 hours on the marked path. The summit cross is located at 2074 m above sea level.

In winter the Maurerkogel is a relatively simple and in compliance with the necessary precautions a safe ski tour.

Particularly noteworthy is the stunning panoramic view, it shows the Maurerkogel: Hohe Tauern, Steinernes Meer, Hochkönig, Hundsteingruppe to name the most important mountain ranges.
