Moraine Lake
Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km².
The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. source: wikipedia

This is beautiful!! I love the color of the still, blue lake!
That’s neat how the color comes from the rocks at the bottom!

Really, it looks like you had to hike in to some remote area to get this, you mean there is a road or hotel nearby?
Brendan Schoon replied
Well it was a short hike not to steep! A parking lot at a distance of 300 meters and buses full of people!! If you will visit Moraine Lake someday make sure you’ll make your visit before 11am otherwise it will be very very crowded. Brendan

You are so welcome! I thought it must have been taken in the morning, because, we were there around 3:00pm and the sun was behind on the right side of the mountain range. I will certainly know what time to visit next time! :)

Did you know this is called “Lake of Ten Peaks” and it was on the back of our old Canadian $20.00 bill, for years… I love this area.. Peyto Lake is my favorite….! Thanks for sharing…
Brendan Schoon replied
I know Valley of the Ten Peaks but never known that the lake was called the same. The area…. I could have hiked there for many many hours, but unfortunately Canada has too many beautiful places you must see on your trip. So I couldn’t stay long in this area. I will come back!! Such a shame they don’t use those old bills anymore. Thank for your comment. Much appreciated. Brendan
