Brendan, I think this is very close to the spot I visited at Lake Moraine in the early 1960’s! It’s truly a view one can never forget, and you’ve done a marvelous job of capturing that breathtaking sight! Thank you for “taking me back” in time to a favorite place! —Pat

Simply stunning! I was touring through Alberta and British Columbia earlier this year in March and stayed in and around Banff for a few days. It was stunning then but all frozen and covered in snow. I’ll be back there in July so looking forward to seeing it like this!

Hi Brendan… I love this picture. Great composition. It is wonderful how depth is conveyed in the picture through the relative size of landscape features, in this case the pine trees in the foreground, in the middle ground along the shore and in the background… The s-curve shaped lake shore creating receding lines that end in the background add to the depth… and applying the rule of thirds in placing the dominant tree in the forground make it even more compeeling… just beatutiful…

I was about to ask if this was the actual color of the lake then seen your background information and read that you said the lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake pretty cool gorgeous now I would like to be there right now.
