These two sheds are on our neighbour’s farm, both used at various times as milking sheds. The closer one would only be a few decades old, but the back shed must be at least 100 years old.
I have researched much of the early history of this area and have found that quite a few significant sites are within walking distance. The history of this area is very strong around here. It seems to be everywhere I look, seeping through the very pores of existence. The history of this area dominates so many of my thoughts that at times I can swear I catch a glimpse of the farmer with his thick beard, almost hear wagons rattling along the road, smell the unmistakeable smells of the farm, taste the sweet air…
I love it… it’s a history geek’s paradise. ;o)
