An Ode To All Things Stick by Jack

I wrote an ode t’ all things stick ‘cause I love ’em all t’ bits!
I love it when I chew ‘em up, makin’ little baby sticks.
I love a stick that’s nice an’ thick, whatever type is fine.
It has t’ take a good strong chew an’ fly a nice straight line.
An’ when I find a real good stick I go t’ Dad or Mum.
I love th’ way they throw it right (I REALLY love t’ run).
Cooper likes t’ play ‘stick’ too but, th’ silly little pup,
insists on chasin’ me instead an’ our game gets all mucked up.
But I can run an’ run fer hours an’ I’m really REALLY fast!
I twist an’ keep just outta reach, an’ Cooper just can’t last.
An’ sometimes, when I’m REALLY good, I can catch it in th’ air.
Cooper tries an’ jumps real high, but she doesn’t have MY flair.
An’ when we go down t’ th’ creek I LOVE to have a swim.
I’ll grab a stick fer Mum or Dad (they always chuck it in).
Sometimes I’ll find a good strong stick an’ play with it ALL day.
I’ll pick it up an’ take it home… tomorrow, Mum’ll play!
I love th’ way a stick will twirl when sailin’ through th’ air.
I love how clean me toofies feel when I have chewed it bare.
I LOVE it when th’ bark breaks up an’ sticks all on me tongue.
It makes me day when I can find th’ VERY perfect one.
From Gum an’ Oak to Pine an’ Elm, they’ve got me in a spin.
I love ‘em long… I love ’em short! I love ’em fat… or thin!
I love ’em all, I hafta say… all branches, twigs an’ logs.
An’ one thing that I know FER SURE…
Sticks are a gift… T’ DOGS!

So many clues to ’Jack’s’ charactor, I find myself instantly liking him – and I’m a cat lover! hahahaha The photo and story are both fabulously different! Thank you for sharing ‘Jacks’ thoughts on ‘sticks’ with us and congrats on being a ‘Challenge top 10 winner’ too. Smiles from Cobie :-)

  • Don’t feel too bad liking Jack… he’s very clever and everyone loves him. And besides, he thinks he’s a cat… he grew up with them and even cleans himself like a cat would. I could call him a cat-dog…
Thanks for your lovely comment Cobie :o)
