The Family by PhoenixArt

Currently unavailable for purchase

These are our two dogs, and my daughters dog… our granddog, Buddy.
Jack, on the right, is our oldest… he’ll be 5 in July. Cooper, on the left, is our baby. She’s a 6-month-old Great Dane, Mastiff and Labrador cross. We seem to prefer mongrels for some reason. Buddy is in the middle. He’s my daughter’s dog… he’s a Miniature Fox Terrier, but we’re not really sure how old he is.

Wonderful capture of these beautiful canines…obviously focussed on something very interesting or tasty..!!!

  • Just Dad… although I suppose he’s pretty interesting. We don’t reward with food… just love and praise… and stern talks when they’ve done something wrong. In my experience, dogs seem to respond better and more consistently that way… if you reward with food they will respond well when they can see the reward in your hand. But if they don’t see that you have food they’re not as eager to please.
Thanks for your comment Meg. :o)

Faithful and loyal to the very end.
My demands, those of a friend.
My wide dark eyes will let you see.
My love for you will always be.
    The Auld Yin.

  • Thanks Alex. That’s a lovely poem, and how true the sentiment is. Sometimes I think I’d rather be surrounded by animals than people. All the best :o)

Really sweet, are the all being told…“.okay if you all stay that way, you’ll get a yummy?”
    wonderful shot

  • Lol… no, this is normal. We make them stop and sit before they get anything they want… be that food, play or walkies. If they’re good they get what they want. As kids’ dogs they need to know how to calm themselves on command, so they learn this early… and as photographers’ dogs, that trick often comes in handy too.
Thanks heaps Heidi. They’re great dogs :o)
