The NSS Grandeur, Panama leaving Newcastle Harbour NSW Australia loaded with export steaming coal on 30th June 2012. Ships of this size (Cape Class) can carry over 150,000 tonnes of coal. The coal was loaded at the Kooragang coal loader.
The coal will raise the standards of living of those people overseas up to that level now enjoyed by people now living in Australia today. The Greens are more concerned about future global warming in 100 years time than the poverty levels of millions of people today living overseas.
This image was taken late afternoon from Stockton looking towards Nobby’s Lighthouse. The image was taken with a Nikon D800 and was compressed a little before uploading to Redbubble.
This image is similar to 3 previous images of the PACIFIC TRIANGLE and the FORTUNE MIRACLE and HANJIN HAYPOINT and DONG-A RHEA.

Great golden glow
Thanks for the look & comment. The sun was almost down and unfortunately I did have a tripod handy. The original image was a JPEG quite small in size around 14 Mb…usually for the D800 they are up around 20mb.

Nice shot…looks like a great afternoon.
The 105 lens I was using was a little short.

Graham, many thanks for the feature…this image is similar to others indicating the export of coal to overseas (third world) countries to raise their standard of living up to that we in Australia enjoy today.
Each image shows the Newcastle icon, Nobbys Lighthouse in the background.
Cheers,
Phil W. (Redbubble Rumbler).
