Most industrial sites by day are unattractive unless you are a industrial technical buff but on this occasion I headed over to Kooragang Island just before dusk to sit and wait for the lights to appear on the Coal Stacker Reclaimer that was parked near the fence on Kooragang Island in Newcastle NSW Australia. I wasn’t disappointed as the sun began to dip, the lights began to appear against the blue backdrop of the remnants of the day’s sky. I might add this was about the time that the security guard decided to check Bev & I out, thinking we may have been environmental protesters planning to climb the fence and strap ourselves to one of the machines … oh how I wish I was that young again!! After a chat it appeared he was a Canon owner and the talk soon changed from security issues to photography … that proves it … photography could solve the world’s problems!
As usual, I post images that convey information, tell a story and is of public interest…especially this image with the debate about AGW. There appears tobe less and less of a consensus with each passing day, especially with the email scandals associated with the IPCC.
