The dry cargo (wheat or coal or similar) ship Fortune Miracle leaving Newcastle Harbour in NSW Australia on the 12th November 2011. In the background is the historic Nobby’s Lighthouse that welcomes and farewells all vessels to the port. The 225 m long ship of around 82,000 tonnes has an unusual bow and is fully laden with export steaming coal for use in electricity power stations overseas.
This will raise the standards of living of those overseas – up to that now enjoyed by people now living in Australia today. The political party THE GREENS ignore poverty levels of people overseas by the campaign to stop coal exports.
As usual I post images that tell a story and convey information, to capture an instant in time that will never happen again.
Taken with the Nikon D90, 18-200 mm lens, hand held – from the Stockton breakwall.
