Coal ship Coral Emerald - Port of Newcastle NSW by

The bulk coal ship Coral Emerald sitting high in the water on entry to the Port of Newcastle in NSW Australia on the 20th July 2009 and heading for the coal loader at Kooragang Island. In this image note how the coal ship blocks out the city of Newcastle, dwarfing the magestic Custom’s House building on the right of the image. The Coral Emerald is being escorted by the tug, Switzer Meringa. The ship left fully loaded the following morning.

I think a fully loaded coal ship would emulate a submarine in heavy swell.
