Hooter, a Tyto-E-Hollandiae owl ( a blue nosed Nova Castrian wise owl) flew over to the Stockton Ballast Grounds to check out a rumour his cousin Sheldon heard in a green water melon patch.
The rumour was that an electricity company had installed three, yes, three small nuclear reactors behind the security fences on Dykes Point, Newcastle Harbour.
The rumour said the reactors were similar to those used in nuclear submarines and were to be used to meet peak demands of electricity in the Newcastle area. The advantage of these small but efficient units is that there were no CO2 emissions.
The new three containment buildings can be seen in the background across the river behind Hooter the owl who was standing on a fish cleaning bench.
Hooter was curious, if true, it must have been arranged in secret without the local population being told. But, Hooter naturally thought this greenie rumour must be wrong, they always were in the past.
Stay tuned for further investigations by Hooter, the wise owl.
HAVE HOOT, WILL TRAVEL.
