Birds Eye View - Queens Wharf Newcastle NSW

What better way to kick start November than with a ride in a cage attached to a crane on the foreshore at Newcastle NSW Australia. Call me mad but it was fun and it was certainly a wonderful view from this vantage point way above the city. This commanding view is of Queen’s Wharf with the Brewery in the foreground and Scratchleys Restaurant on the water at the rear. everything looked so miniature below.

How did you ever manage to get this ride?
I’m having trouble just picturing where the crane actually was situated to take this great shot.
    Please tell!

  • Phil Woodman replied

The crane with its huge extension (pointing towards Stockton) was situated in a small car park adjacent to the pilot station. The crane was on display at the truck expo.

An excellent vantage point and a rare perspective. Great shot !

Reflector, one shoud never let a chance go by, even if its hanging off a hook of a very large crane at maximum extension to get a record shot of Newcastle Harbour Foreshore.
