At Cape Otway on Victoria’s southwestern coast, are the old and the new lightstations. The original lighthouse, built in 1848, had a light with a range of approximately 45kms. It was decommissioned in 1994 and replaced by the smaller solar powered light, at the front, with a range of approximately 35kms.
