Broken Vessel

I know as long as I remain intact…
My life will continue to be filled with the shame and guilt of my past sinful acts.

Chipped and weathered by all the pain and sorrow I’ve carried deep within…
Oh how I wish my heart would break and drain away the memories of all my sins.

Lord my heart has become a vessel, as brittle as aged clay…
I pray this vessel be broken, and all my pain and sorrow would be forever washed away.

So pour out my life, that I might become empty and clean…
For there is no other whom I trust, but You, The Lord of Lords and The King of Kings!

This was inspired by the photo, “The Broken Vessel” by Phil Thomson*
